BUS CORP OCEA­NIA AND OPTARE CON­GRAT­U­LATE TRANZIT ON THE DE­LIV­ERY OF THE F IRST OF 114 NEW OPTARE METROC­ITY BUSES FOR WELLING­TON

In an his­toric cer­e­mony in the NZ cap­i­tal in late April the Act­ing British High Com­mis­sioner cut the rib­bon on the first of 114 Optare MetroC­ity buses to be de­liv­ered to Tranzit to ser­vice the Welling­ton re­gion.

The light­weight fuel- ef­fi­cient mono­coque Optares are pow­ered by Mercedes Benz en­gines and are Euro 6 com­pli­ant en­sur­ing clean and ef­fi­cient buses for the com­muters of the Kiwi cap­i­tal.

Bus Corp Ocea­nia has an­nounced it will be open­ing new of­fices to rep­re­sent Optare in both Welling­ton and Auck­land in com­ing months on the back of the sig­nif­i­cant Tranzit fleet deal.

Mean­time on the other side of the ditch BCO has opened a new of­fice in Syd­ney’s west at Smithfield.

BCO’s fleet of Optare demon­stra­tors are avail­able for route trial by prospec­tive cus­tomers, al­though be warned they are al­ready in strong de­mand.
