Tayla Vlaeminck (Melbourne Renegades)

ABC Cricket - - WBBL -

Allrounder, right-hand bat/ right-arm medium-fast

Two knee reconstructions and a dislocated shoulder over the last three years have prevented Tayla Vlaeminck from making her WBBL debut. Despite limited elite-level experience, the Australian selectors have touted her as the fast-bowler they’ve been waiting for. Vlaeminck was selected for the Southern Stars T20 squad to play New Zealand this summer based on her quick pace and ability to bowl a solid bouncer. At just 19 years old, it’s likely Vlaeminck hasn’t even reached peak speed, but her form in the Australia under-19s tour of South Africa in April saw her awarded player of the match in the final, where she took 6-27.
