Experienced pace bowler filled in as captain and led his team to victory in the South Africa series, even though he bowled fewer than seven overs between the two Tests. Only Chaminda Vaas has taken more wickets among Sri Lankan pace bowlers than Lakmal’s 117, although there’s not altogether too much competition there. Has played only one Test in Australia during his career, in Sydney in 2013.
