Sea creature rescue class

Albany Advertiser - - NEWS - Saskia Adysti

Albany marine mammals’ enthusiasts are invited to attend a marine animals rescue training session held by Organisation for the Rescue and Research of Cetaceans in Australia.

ORRCA has more than 170 trained members in WA, and is looking to broaden its Albany team due to the number of marine mammals’ incidents in the area.

ORRCA president Jacqueline O’Neill said that in the past 12 months there had been three seals hauled out of incidents in Albany, all attended by ORRCA members.

ORRCA training is a one-day course with theory and lectures in the morning and practical exercises in the afternoon.

The workshop will be held on Saturday, October 27, from 8.30am at a DPaW facility in Albany.
