Holis­tic health un­veiled

Al­bany will host its first Holis­tic Health­care Expo this week­end.

Lo­cal health prac­ti­tion­ers, ther­a­pists, ed­u­ca­tors and ad­vo­cates will have their skills, knowl­edge and ex­pe­ri­ence show­cased dur­ing pre­sen­ta­tions by guest speak­ers and at work­shop demon­stra­tions.

Stall­hold­ers will talk to vis­i­tors to the expo about holis­tic health and com­ple­men­tary health ser­vices avail­able in Al­bany and the Great South­ern.

Holis­tic Health­care Net­work chair­woman Jill Lis­son said the event was an ex­cit­ing first for Al­bany, and the pub­lic would greatly ben­e­fit from at­tend­ing to learn more about ways to op­ti­mise their health.

“Lo­cals will have the op­por­tu­nity to learn about gut health, pain man­age­ment, nutri­tion and med­i­ta­tion, and so much more,” she said.

“In this unique event, stall­hold­ers will in­clude acupunc­tur­ists, natur­opaths, func­tional medicine prac­ti­tion­ers, mas­sage ther­a­pists and oc­cu­pa­tional ther­a­pists, to name a few, giv­ing the pub­lic an op­por­tu­nity to chat with health pro­fes­sion­als and prac­tice man­agers.”

The Holis­tic Health Expo will be held on Satur­day, De­cem­ber 8, at Cen­ten­nial Park Sta­dium be­tween 9.30am and 4.30pm. All are wel­come to at­tend. En­try is by a gold coin do­na­tion.

HHN ex­ec­u­tive com­mit­tee mem­ber Judy Hunt will be sell­ing Roogen­ics teas at the event and has do­nated prod­uct for a raf­fle.
