Exciting time to live in Albany

Albany Advertiser - - NEWS - Dennis Wellington City of Albany mayor Dennis Wellington

On behalf of the City of Albany council and staff, I would like to thank the Albany community for your support throughout 2018.

Albany has had a busy year with the completion of the Tourism and Information Hub, closing out of the Anzac Centenary, opening of Field of Light: Avenue of Honour, the Queen’s Baton Relay and much more.

I am incredibly proud of our community and the resilience shown during the frightening bushfires in May. The mateship that followed during the clean-up highlighted our community’s spirit and perseverance.

Looking towards 2019, I am excited for the future of Albany as we continue to strengthen our relationship with our neighbouring shires and work towards becoming 100 per cent energy self-sufficient by 2026.

This is an incredibly exciting time to live in Albany, I look forward to working alongside the council, staff and City of Albany community in 2019. Have a wonderful Christmas and a safe and happy New Year.

City of Albany mayor Dennis Wellington.
