Homeward bound

Albany Advertiser - - AGENDA - Shannon Smith

There is nothing quite like a home town show when musicians such as Albany’s Megan Bushell return to their roots to perform.

Bushell will take to the microphone at Wilson’s Brewery with Brandon Richards as duo MB Acoustic this weekend.

Their laid-back guitar and engaging vocals will bring new and old classics, and you may know the two as members of Perth cover band Infamus, which performs regularly.

Bushell said the two WAAPA graduates love to get back to regional towns and venture out of Perth.

“It’s always wonderful to come back to Albany, especially when I get to share what I do and have been working on with my family and friends as they don’t get the chance to see me performing very often these days,” she said.

“I always find it a bit more nerve-racking performing in Albany because my family are there, but it’s a different atmosphere to Perth, it’s quite warm and welcoming to music.

“Everyone knows Albany’s full of people returning home for Christmas, so it’s the perfect excuse to gather your friends and family, have some incredible drinks, listen or dance to music and really enjoy the festive season.”

MB Acoustic will be playing a mix of unique songs with some big tunes as the night goes on this Saturday, December 22, at 5pm.

There will be free courtesy buses back to Albany CBD by Albany Limousines and Charters, leaving the brewery at 8.30pm.

Megan Bushell and Brandon Richards are MB Acoustic.
