Rev­ellers will be able to en­joy fes­tiv­i­ties at Al­bany Rac­ing Club’s big­gest an­nual party, the Box­ing Day Races, un­til 9pm, for the first time on Wednesday.

Pun­ters are sad­dling up for an­other mas­sive Al­bany Box­ing Day races.

Ev­ery year, Percy Spencer Race­course is flooded with rev­ellers for one of the so­cial high­lights of the Great South­ern rac­ing cal­en­dar.

Gates open from noon and a re­turn bus ser­vice will again be avail­able from the Al­bany Vis­i­tor Cen­tre on York Street.

Al­bany Rac­ing Club man­ager Jack Young said he was look­ing for­ward to an­other great Box­ing Day meet.

“We have the races, live mu­sic and plenty of en­ter­tain­ment for the kids,” he said.

“The Ryde Build­ing Com­pany foot­ball sprint will also be a great and fun high­light of the day, where we have two play­ers from each club bat­tle it out.”

Rev­ellers can en­joy plenty of live mu­sic this year and Pin­stripe will be tak­ing to the stage from 5.30 to 9pm.

“We’ll be open later this year, which is great, and for the kids we have a bouncy cas­tle, a Rep­tile Haven pet­ting zoo and an in­flat­able ob­sta­cle course,” Mr Young said.

“It’s a great day fam­ily day out and our big­gest at­tended meet of the year.”

The weather fore­cast for Box­ing Day is 24C.
