City to Surf reg­is­tra­tions open

The Chevron City to Surf for Ac­tiv run is back again next month, and the Al­bany Ac­tiv team is gear­ing up.

The run will be held at Middleton Beach and par­tic­i­pants can ei­ther run, walk or roll through the 4km, 12km, half-marathon or marathon cour­ses on July 22.

The race is Ac­tiv’s ma­jor fundrais­ing event and since it was es­tab­lished in 1975, it has raised mil­lions of dol­lars for peo­ple liv­ing with dis­abil­ity.

The sixth an­nual Chevron City to Surf for Ac­tiv in Al­bany has opened for reg­is­tra­tions, just in time to wel­come back Com­mon­wealth Games gold medal­list, am­bas­sador and bas­ket­ball leg­end Damian Martin.

walk in the 4km event at Middleton Beach next month. “It’s fan­tas­tic to be part of such an im­por­tant event that’s syn­ony­mous with WA,” the Perth Wild­cats star said.

“I’ve met some re­ally in­spi­ra­tional peo­ple and it’s in­cred­i­bly re­ward­ing to help peo­ple achieve their goals.

“This is why I come back each year.”
