Paddle boarder makes history in Avon Descent
Albany competitor Paul Hepworth made history last weekend becoming the first person to complete the Avon Descent on a stand-up paddle board.
Hepworth completed the 124km course in a time of 12hr. 30min. 31sec. and came in 133rd overall out of 154 competitors that took part in the annual event.

Michael Swain, also from Albany, was competing in the single open ski before the course got the better of him.
Swain did not finish and was taken to hospital.
