Den­mark grom­mets top of the class at Sun­smart ti­tles

Den­mark Se­nior High School has claimed vic­tory in the Great South­ern round of the Sun­Smart School Surf­ing Ti­tles held at Ocean Beach in Den­mark last Fri­day.

Five schools took part in the an­nual re­gional event, with Den­mark prov­ing too strong and crowned cham­pion school while Albany Se­nior High School fin­ished run­nerup.

Esper­ance Se­nior High School, Great South­ern Gram­mar and Esper­ance Angli­can Com­mu­nity School also took part.

There were plenty of great waves, tac­tics and high scor­ing from the ded­i­cated surfers across the di­vi­sions.

Each re­gional di­vi­sion win­ner has been in­vited to com­pete at the WA School Surf­ing Ti­tles fi­nal in Perth on Au­gust 31.

Den­mark won the ju­nior boys’ body­board, ju­nior boys’ surf and se­nior boys’ surf di­vi­sions on a suc­cess­ful day.

Albany fin­ished win­ners in the ju­nior girls’ body­board, se­nior girls’ body­board and se­nior girls’ surf cat­e­gories while the se­nior boys’ body­board was taken out by Esper­ance SHS.
