Denmark grommets top of the class at Sunsmart titles
Denmark Senior High School has claimed victory in the Great Southern round of the SunSmart School Surfing Titles held at Ocean Beach in Denmark last Friday.
Five schools took part in the annual regional event, with Denmark proving too strong and crowned champion school while Albany Senior High School finished runnerup.
Esperance Senior High School, Great Southern Grammar and Esperance Anglican Community School also took part.
There were plenty of great waves, tactics and high scoring from the dedicated surfers across the divisions.
Each regional division winner has been invited to compete at the WA School Surfing Titles final in Perth on August 31.
Denmark won the junior boys’ bodyboard, junior boys’ surf and senior boys’ surf divisions on a successful day.
Albany finished winners in the junior girls’ bodyboard, senior girls’ bodyboard and senior girls’ surf categories while the senior boys’ bodyboard was taken out by Esperance SHS.
Denmark Senior High School won the Great Southern regional qualifier of the SunSmart School Surfing Titles.
