Denmark share spoils
Denmark signed off their year with what was also their best result of the season in the Albany Junior Soccer Association under-14s last Saturday.
Playing cup finalists Grammar, most were expecting an easy result for Grammar but Denmark were up for the fight and really took it to their opponents.
Opportunities were far and few for Denmark who played most of the match in their own half but with Ava Malata playing in the front line for Denmark, it kept the Grammar defence on their toes as she chased down every ball putting them under immense pressure.
In defence, Denmark centreback Tayah Mastalerz controlled her back line superbly in a player of the match performance that frustrated the Grammar attack as the match finish in a nil-all draw.
Grammar will be hoping they can get their shooting boots back on when they take on John Calvin this Saturday in the cup final.
Albany-Bayswater played out a thrilling 2-2 draw against their cup final opponents Polonia in the under-15s competition.
Deacon Houghton had a great game in defence for Polonia and saved his side on a few occasions but was unable to do much against Jacob Griffin first and then a Fredrick Opuni equaliser.
