Clubs set to serve up top new season
It was great to see so many clubs having busy bees last week in preparation for the new season ahead.
Mt Barker kick off their season tonight from 6.30pm.
On Saturday you can play at Denmark, Merrifield Park, Lawley Park, Emu Point, Kendenup and Denmark all afternoon.
Social tennis is organised match play and is great fun — all clubs welcome visitors and new members.
Abbi Gibson had a great start to her Sydney campaign with another Australian Ranking event win.
She is playing her second event as we speak. Junior coaching kicks off next week.
Kendenup Tennis Club will run its program on Tuesdays from 3.45pm. Contact Vanessa on 0457 251 667 for details.
Lawley Park will begin its junior coaching on Thursday afternoons and Merrifield Park will run its junior coaching on Saturday mornings. For both programs call 0451 460 852 or visit albanytennisacademy.com for details, times, bookings and costs.
Merrifield Park will start its new Saturday junior club this Saturday from 10.30am-12.30pm.
All players welcome — just rock up and play.
Lawley Park Tennis Club will resume its Wednesday junior club from 3.30pm. Again, all players are welcome to join and play supervised matches.
Our Lower Great Southern Tennis Association boys’ team is in training for Geraldton Foundation Cup in a few weeks.
After last year’s success, winning the event, we are sending four strong boys to play it out against the State’s top country players.
