Myr­iad events will be held across Al­bany this week­end to mark 100 years since the Armistice to end World War I. The Field of Light, pic­tured, will re­main a fo­cus of com­mem­o­ra­tions.

Al­bany will be the fo­cus of WA’s Re­mem­brance Day com­mem­o­ra­tions with sev­eral events planned from Fri­day to Sun­day.

A vet­er­ans’ march will take place on York Street from 10am as in pre­vi­ous years, with mil­i­tary per­son­nel, an­cil­lary groups and po­lice join­ing ex-ser­vi­ceper­sons in pa­rade to An­zac Peace Park.

They will not be joined by mil­i­tary ve­hi­cles as in pre­vi­ous years, and plans for an air-force fly­over or Royal Aus­tralian Navy visit are not yet con­firmed.

Once the as­sem­bly ar­rives at the Peace Park, the tra­di­tional cer­e­mony will be­gin around 10.30am.

It will fin­ish around an hour later, and pre­cede a fair on Stir­ling Ter­race open­ing from mid­day.

There are a num­ber of ex­hi­bi­tions and in­stal­la­tions in place over the week­end.
