Work pays off for PCYC

The Al­bany Po­lice and Com­mu­nity Youth Cen­tre was recog­nised for its ef­forts at the an­nual PCYC awards night this month.

The Al­bany group won the fundraiser of the year award.

Al­bany man­ager Terry Ea­ton said he was proud of the win, adding it was a huge achieve­ment.

“It’s a com­bi­na­tion of a lot of work and ef­fort from nu­mer­ous peo­ple and we are very proud, and thank­ful of the com­mu­nity ef­forts,” he said.

“Ev­ery do­na­tion helps. It doesn’t mat­ter if it’s big or small, we are al­ways so grate­ful.

“We have done re­ally well this year as a club, and I am very proud of the team.”

The Al­bany club took home the award for its fundrais­ing ef­forts with the Al­bany PCYC Com­mu­nity Ball, char­ity darts and as­sist­ing with the Al­bany Agri­cul­tural Show.

Al­bany PCYC is in­volved in cater­ing for a ma­jor char­ity darts tour­na­ment that is held at the cen­tre an­nu­ally in Au­gust.
