102 not out
“Never give up”. That was the lesson Albany World War II veteran Harold Martin’s mother taught him as a child. On Tuesday, he celebrated his 102nd birthday.
This year, a baby girl at Albany Health Campus was the first infant born in 2019 in Albany.
Willow Grace Jackson was born on January 1 at 9.26pm.
Her mum Crystal Jackson was thrilled with her arrival.
Willow measured 50cm and weighed 3.2kg at birth.
“I am absolutely thrilled with the safe arrival of my daughter and it’s very exciting she’s the first baby of the year,” the proud mum said.
“My mum’s birthday is tomorrow too, so it was a great gift for her.”
Ms Jackson thanked the staff at the Albany Health Campus.
