VSA focuses on member services
AS the snow starts falling across the Victorian snow resorts for 2013 the Victorian Snowsports Association is promoting its membership drive to all clubs and programs in Victoria.
The VSA’s newly appointed executive officer, Glenn Penson, has been busy out and about in the last few months communicating to all stakeholders about the benefits of joining the VSA.
Glenn joined the Victorian Snowsports Association as its executive officer in the off season and has hit the ground running, communicating to clubs, programs and disciplines the benefits of supporting the VSA and learning about the needs of the snow sports community so as to access all funding opportunities that are available to the association through the State Government.
Glenn has found that Victorian snow sports are varied and diverse and is looking forward to working with all stakeholders throughout the season.
Glenn has put his skills to re developing the VSA website so we are able to better communicate to the Victorian snow sports community and be able to promote grassroots snow sports.
Through the season you will be able to keep up to date with each of the snow sports disciplines and programs.
You are now able to follow the VSA on Twitter, Facebook and instagram.
The VSA is happy to offer access to the website to the Victorian snow sports community to promote the opportunities to become involved in many of the grassroots activities that are available at all the Victorian resorts.
The VSA executive committee has been working to strengthen that relationship with the state snow sport disciplines.
Each discipline holds a chair on the VSA executive committee: Alpine, Jenny Parker, Snowboard, Nicole Staveley, Cross Country, Alan Marsland and Freestyle, Andrew Patterson.
The committee is a hardworking group of volunteers with a vast amount of experience between them.
The aim of the committee is to provide as much funding support to the Victorian clubs and programs to fill the gap between the club and elite programs.
The Victorian sporting sector is extremely competitive and the VSA is proud to say that we have an established relationship with the Department of Sport and Recreation Victoria and we are actively promoting snow sports to gain increased funding opportunities.
The VSA encourages all members of the snow sports communities to keep up to date with club activities at all Victorian resorts on the VSA website and to contact Glenn at [email protected]snowboard. org.au or 0448 766 977 if you have any news items that can be promoted.
The VSA would like to take the opportunity to wish all athletes the very best for the 2013 season. We would like to thank all the hardworking volunteers at the clubs and programs that provide the high standard of programs and activities that the Victorian community can participate in all season.
