Word of mouth to drive cash for Mt Buffalo campaign

PLANS to re-invigorate Mt Buffalo have been shared with 25 “key” individuals in recent weeks but supporters are now looking at word of mouth and money to continue their campaign.

The Mount Buffalo Destination Advisory Group wants people to share the Vision for Mt Buffalo documents, available on their Facebook page.

They are also calling for donations to the Into Our Hands Foundation to pay for further hard copies.

Community Action for the Chalet’s David Jacobson said the next step was to get the decision makers in one room.

“Over the past two weeks, Janelle Boynton, chair Mount Buffalo Destination Advisory Group, has been busy getting our community vision for Mt Buffalo in front of a wide audience,” he said.

“It has been incredibly rewarding to hear the responses.

“Over the next few weeks, our aim is to get many of these decision makers in one room, to work on the plan forward, which is to get immediate funding of an independent project manager to continue her work on developing the community, possible investors, government agencies including policy and future funding.”

Mr Jacobson said the community work to put together the blueprint was conservatively valued at $ 250,000.

“As everyone is aware, this campaign has been created through pro bono commitments by many individuals,” he said.

“We know many of you pledged on the Pozible site which, unfortunately, didn’t make the target. But we still invite everyone to make your contribution through our partner – the not for profit organisation Into Our Hands Foundation.

“These funds will be used, initially, to continue to print quality A3 copies of the Vision, and to support the campaign to inform and attract our partners.”

Details are available on the Community Action for the Chalet Facebook page.
