New wording on council questions

MAYOR Ron Janas has admitted he could have chosen his words better when outlining the new policy for public questions at council meetings last month.

At the most recent council meeting Tawonga’s Mary Pike asked why questions should be limited to items on that evening’s agenda.

Cr Janas said they were reviewing the wording for question time policy.

“We are looking at some appropriate wording for question time into the future,” he said.

“I acknowledge we live in a democracy and people have the right to ask questions … there was a period of time later last year that people took advantage of that for the wrong reasons.”
