Sewing workshop on for Boomerang Bags
MYRTLEFORD’S Boomerang Bags group will hold a ‘Sew your Own’ workshop this Friday and Saturday.
The group are looking to better prepare locals for later this month when Coles cease the supply of single use plastic bags.
Ready to sew kits will be available for everyone attending, though people are also welcome to bring their own fabric to stitch up into a bag.
Group member Gayle South said she encouraged anyone who had been involved in the Boomerang Bags journey along for a cup of coffee and afternoon tea.
“Many of these volunteers have busily been collecting the kits from the library and returning the sewn bags without us knowing who these volunteers are, so this is our way of thanking them,” she said.
Attendees are asked to bring their own sewing machine if they have one as there will be limited spare.
The sessions will run from 6pm until 9pm on the Friday and 9am until 4pm on Saturday, light refreshments will be provided.
