Plenty on of­fer as Hotham, Din­ner Plain cel­e­brate start of 2018 win­ter

THERE’S plenty on of­fer at Mt Hotham this week­end to mark the start of 2018 win­ter, with food tak­ing a star­ring role.

Chill Bar and Café is cel­e­brat­ing with three nights of live mu­sic, fea­tur­ing DJ Barkly on Fri­day af­ter­noon and An­gus Legg on Satur­day and Sun­day from 4.30pm.

On Satur­day, One Tree Sports will show­case the lat­est snow fash­ion and ski gear to go with com­pli­men­tary cham­pagne of ar­rival to be fol­lowed by fire­works in the Basin at 7pm.

The Last Run Bar is open for din­ner all week­end or why not try some Asian-in­spired tapas with sig­na­ture cock­tails and live mu­sic at the new kid on the block, Miss Mary’s.

On Sun­day af­ter­noon from Zirky’s will put on bub­bles and cheese from 1.30pm, be­fore great live mu­sic from Imo­gen Price.

That’s in ad­di­tion to The Re­cre­ation pop-up which will see the team from the Fitzroy North venue join the Zirknitzer fam­ily to cre­ate two nights of memorable dishes

The tick­eted din­ner will also be a com­ple­mented by Gap­sted wines.

The Re­cre­ation head chef Steven Nel­son has a planned three course menu with a sub­tle nod to Peter Zirknitzer’s fam­ily ori­gins with each one to be paired with a dif­fer­ent Gap­sted Wine.

At Din­ner Plain, Onsen Spa are of­fer­ing a com­pli­men­tary hand and arm mas­sage while you sip on a glass of wine for their open­ing night.

They’re also of­fer­ing a onenight only spe­cial, of­fers in­clud­ing dis­counted sea­sonal mem­ber­ship.

Still at Din­ner Plain and there’ll be the usual start-of­sea­son bargains at lo­cal ski re­tail­ers ahead of the Giant Snow Dance Fes­ti­val on Sun­day.

DJ Eddy will be pumping tunes for you to dance to on the Din­ner Plain round­about from 5pm with fire­works at 6pm, hot choco­lates, gluh­wein and strudel also avail­able.
