PROGRESS is continuing on the new Alpine Events Centre at Bright’s Pioneer Park.

Construction of the multipurpose facility is expected to be completed as early as late July.

With that the case the United Bright Football Netball Club could have use of the facility for one of its final two home games on July 28 or August 11.

Alpine Shire Council director assets Will Jeremy said most of work left was inside the building.

“The builder is busily working away on the upper level and it’s starting to take shape now,” he said.

“We’re still hopefully of a completion towards the end of July or early August but the last five per cent of the project always takes the longest.

“Once the builders are finished there are some things that will be finished off by council, including components in the kitchen and furniture.

“We’re well into the process of working those things out at the moment.”

The pavilion will be capable of hosting 200 plus people for events and functions and includes a commercial kitchen, bar, meeting and storage rooms and toilets.

The senior and junior football clubs have had use of the change rooms on the lower level since Easter.

The entire Alpine Events Park project is on track to be delivered by June 30 next year.

CLOSE UP: Bright’s under 15 netballers checked out the new pavilion with club president Peter Ricardi recently.
