Young Savoys celebrate season

MYRTLEFORD Savoy’s juniors have celebrated another successful season at their presentation day earlier this month.
Myrtleford played in a Grand Final at under 12 level and finished fifth and sixth in the under 13s and 11s respectively.
The under 13 girls also celebrated a much improved year, scoring 42 goals on their way to finishing fifth with a largely inexperienced side.
Under 12s and 13s star Lachy MacGowan received recognition for a stellar season by taking out the best and fairest and players’ player award in his own age group under 12s, as well as the players’ player for the under 13s.
The technically gifted midfielder has a promising career ahead of him and also showed his big game capabilities with a second half brace in the in the under 12s’ 4-2 cup final loss to Cobram.
Nathan Caponecchia edged out MacGowan for the under 13s best and fairest while Kaden Saric and Max Vanloon received the coaches’ awards for their dedication and hard work in the under 13s and under 12s respectively.
In the under 13 girls, Madisyn Miller was recognised by her peers as the players’ player and Eleisha Baker, Lily Notarianni and Frankie Carroll were awarded with coaches’ awards.
For the under 11s, Eli Saunder claimed the best and fairest while Sam Sacco was named players’ player with Jack Lewis receiving the coaches’ award.
