COUNTRY music singer Gareth Leach will roll through the Alpine Shire next month as part of his ‘From the Mountain to the River’ tour.

Leach who will be joined by ‘The Wayward Sons’ will be at the Punkah Pantry on Thursday January 3, Harrietville’s Snowline Hotel on Friday January 4 and the Happy Valley Hotel on Saturday January 5.

Leach, whose debut album “Death and Taxes” reached number three in the iTunes Country charts, will also perform at the Wandi Pub on Sunday January 6.

“I just love the (Alpine) area, it’s pretty much my favourite place in the world, if I could find a way to live there I would,” the musician told North East Media.

“It’s just gorgeous and a brilliant lifestyle, whether it’s autumn, winter, summer or spring it’s just the best.”

Leach has previously played shows at the Wandi Pub and in Mt Hotham but it is the Punkah Pantry that has become his home away from home.

“I’m pretty much there every school holidays playing gigs so it’s a great place to kick off this full band tour which will be showcasing my new album which only came out in September,” he said

“It’s the first full band tour I’ve ever done so I’m really excited about it and can’t wait to get started.”

The tour will go on to Tocumwal, Deniliquin and Echuca before finishing in Tamworth.
