Norton Security Premium for Three Devices

Made for families.

-

Norton Security Premium does a lot in the background, but it doesn’t bother you with many of the details — it just fixes things that need fixing. In terms of antimalware performance, it’s up there with the best. It had perfect detection rates in AV-Test’s benchmarks, its overall rating only let down by the modest impact it had on performance.

The list of features is extensive, with the elegant identity theft protection, password manager and startup manager being particular highlights. Then there’s the suite’s secret weapon: Norton Family. Norton Family is, bar none, the best parental control system going, and the suite gives you access to the premium features of the service. It’s more than just blocking sites; it’s about managing access, reporting on activity and providing samples of the kinds of contents your kids are viewing. It’s all elegantly managed through a browser interface, so you don’t need to personally manage every tablet and phone.

The suite also comes with a capable backup tool and 25GB of cloud storage, which is a nice bonus. Although it doesn’t quite have the powerhouse feature set possessed by BitDefender and Kaspersky, the simplicity and features of Norton make it a great family purchase.

The company also offers a single-device version of Premium for $60, which doesn’t have the parental controls and only has 2GB of cloud storage; as well as a five-device household licence, which was actually priced the same as the three-device licence at the time of writing.

Verdict

With excellent parental controls and backup, Norton Security Premium has a lot to offer.
