Providing totally free no-stringsattached protection, 360 Security is a great place to start. It is ad supported, but they are very unobtrusive. Just as importantly, it picked up 100% of malware in ongoing tests dating back over two years, which is an extremely impressive result.
The app includes the usual real-time protection that scans apps as they are installed, but of course can also run full scans of internal and SD storage at any time. 360 Security can help protect your personal data, such as messages and photos, from being accessible to other people and apps, and includes an app locker. For those who are worried about losing their device completely, 360 Security a suite of anti-theft features, including remote locking and erasure, and locator and alarm, all accessible via a web interface. It also has the usual array of call and SMS filters to block unwanted contact.
While not strictly security related, the app has a bunch of handy extra features. It can help clear up junk files to increase storage space, better manage battery life and clear memory. While a bit gimmicky and perhaps not needed, many users appreciate the extra options.
360 Security offers a very clean and well-designed interface, that makes it easy to navigate without extra clutter. In our testing, it was snappy and fast and ran seamlessly in the background.
About the only annoyance was ending up with three different icons installed for the one overall app.
