Mionix NAOS 7000
The perfect palm-wrest.
If you’re not a palmgamer, forget this behemoth. It is huge, which is just how palmers love it. As palm gamers, we found this mouse exceedingly comfortable, with room even for our pinky finger to rest on the top of the mouse. When compared to the competition, this thing is huge, so don’t even consider it if you’re a fingertip or claw gamer. It takes a little while to get used to the size, but once you are, it’s arguably the most ergonomic palm mouse on the market.
Due to the shape, it’s definitely designed for right-hand gamers, and at its heart is a 7,000dpi IR-LED optical mouse. Mionix claims absolutely zero negative positive or negative acceleration, and we believe them — this thing stayed dead on target, pointing out just how bad our aiming skills were.
Three different levels of DPI settings are available via the slightly complex software, but changing them couldn’t be easier, with perfectly placed DPI switches. There’s also a couple of buttons on the left side, for a total of seven programmable buttons, and the entire mouse is coated with four layers of rubber. In other words, it’s super comfortable for palm gamers.
We did notice one flaw, though — the scroll wheel felt very sticky to us, nowhere near as smooth as the competition, but that might just be because our sample was brand new.
If you’re a palm gamer looking for the ultimate in comfort, we’d recommend giving this a shot, despite the slightly high price.
