Windows 10 Cloud could be Microsoft’s next big OS
Powered only by the Windows Store?
Not much is known about the new Windows operating system, but a recently leaked version of the Windows 10 Cloud was available online and first impressions are that the new OS isn’t all that different from Windows 10. It seems to be a Windows 10 version of Windows RT that was released with the first generation of Microsoft Surface devices. This lightweight version of the OS possesses a lack of Win32 app support and possibilities are strong that it would be locked to the Windows Store, similar to Chrome OS which is designed to run only Googleapproved apps. Recently leaked code revealed that Windows 10 Cloud would run only Universal Windows Platform (UWP) apps, and if that’s the case, it could give Google’s Chrome OS a run for its money.
Microsoft has refused to comment on the leak or the new OS, just saying, “We have nothing to share.” But speculation is rife that the company could publicly launch Windows 10 Cloud during the release of the Windows 10 Creators Update later this year.
