Phones. They used to have but­tons and a lan­yard hole (that ac­ces­sory loop you’d at­tach a charm or three onto). They also used to be pla­s­ticky, brick-like in de­sign and fit into your av­er­age pocket. Now, how­ever, thanks to many in­no­va­tions over the years, they’re ‘smart’, sleek, smooth, huge, thin, packed with pix­els and can pretty much do any­thing you want them to do, barring mak­ing you a cup of cof­fee or giv­ing you your morn­ing shave (but that’s not from want of try­ing). But what about those weird in­ven­tions that were left by the way­side, and what’s on the hori­zon?
