Note taking, reimagined. FREE WITH IAP | AGENDA.COM
Note-taking apps aren’t great at keeping tabs on when entries took place, while calendar apps focus strictly on date and time, with little regard to other details. Agenda bridges this divide, adding a project-based workflow to make things unique. This approach comes in handy for linking notes to specific events. The refined interface is designed around your agenda, with a collapsible pane to view upcoming events and jump directly to related notes; you can also search across all projects at once, filtering by date range, people or tag. Sample projects do a good job acclimating new users, and you can import existing Markdown or Apple Notes to pick up where you left off. New notes offer basic text styles and formatting (lists, indentations), but you can’t change font or text size. The lack of an iOS companion app or collaboration features are the biggest limitations, but developers say the former is coming soon; notes can be synced with other Macs on the same iCloud account, however. While Agenda is free, premium features are worth paying for, since any premium features added over 12 months are unlocked forever.
