Hot tech gear we want to own
Google’s Home launched in Australia late last year and offered a reasonably-affordable way to get smart-assistant functionality anywhere in your house, but after crunching the numbers, Google discovered that its smart speakers are predominantly used for listening to music. Google’s third Home smart speak has taken a while to reach Australian shores, but it has that music use-case fully in mind — the Max packs a pair each of 4.5-inch woofers and custom 0.7-inch tweeters, which combine to produce sound that’s far more precise and 20 times more powerful that the regular-sized Google Home. Six far field microphones that can hear commands over loud music are built-in, and these can also work alongside the AI Smart Sound software to adjust the EQ based on the room’s audio dynamics.
