As is often the case with upcoming Android features, an app dedicated to a specific function will no doubt find its way to the Google Play Store ahead of the next major version release. This is great for users who wouldn’t have gotten the feature anytime soon, but there’s a good chance that the app designer won’t quite do as a good job as Google. As this app’s name implies, the feature it’s mimicking is a rotation trick found in Android Pie. Instead of a phone that’s locked to either portrait or landscape, or one that automatically changes its display orientation with the handset, this function offers a happy medium. Flip the phone and a small icon will briefly display — tap to change the orientation or ignore it and it goes away. The feature is genius for avoiding accidental shifts, but this app is flaky and intermittently disables the function.
