VR can’t be dying if Sony’s sold three million PSVR units

Not to mention the sale of 22 million games and experiences as well.

Where HTC and Oculus typically remain mum on sales numbers, Sony is known to brag about how many units of its Play Station VR headset it has sold. By the end of July, the Japanese company had sold three million headsets — along with 21.9 million games and experiences — clearly indicating its popularity hasn’t declined since its 2016 launch. One reason for its popularity could be that it works with a comparitively affordable PS4 console, and doesn’t need a beefy PC rig like the Vive or Rift require. Another reason is the amount of content available on the platform, with 340 highquality games and experiences exclusive to the PSVR, with more on the way.
