Paper to pixels in an instant. FREE WITH IAP | SCANBOT.IO
Paper documents are dependable and don’t need batteries. But moving from dead tree to digital offers a bunch of benefits (not least environmental), particularly if your physical filing isn’t quite up to scratch. Scanbot, which is now far faster at scanning than it once was, is the perfect iOS app to get digital documents sorted: point your camera at a piece of paper and it’ll turn it into a perfectly aligned, perspective-corrected PDF. And it does a great job: even crumpled documents end up readable, and Scanbot is clever enough to compensate for any shadows nicely.
To do more than scanning in single pages you’ll need to stump up some cash; the Lite version, at $4.99, adds OCR to transform documents into searchable text, but it’s the Pro version ($8.49) that really shines, introducing annotations and the ability to interact with elements like web addresses and phone numbers in your scanned documents. Scanbot can also pull double duty as a QR and barcode scanner, though if you have the product with the barcode in front of you, it’s a little redundant.
