We’ve been waiting for hover-bikes since we first clapped eyes on the speeder bikes in Return of the Jedi, but we weren’t expecting them to arrive as early as 2018. To our surprise, California-based engineering company Hoversurf has created the first quadcopter drone to carry a passenger, and it’s actually light enough to fall into the ‘Ultralight Aircraft’ category of the US Federal Aviation Authority’s guidelines — so you don’t need a pilot’s licence to fly one. Considering how blender-like those propellers look, though, we’d probably recommend you get one anyway...
