Ul­traw­ide has proven it­self to be an ex­cel­lent mon­i­tor form-fac­tor over the past cou­ple of years. When paired with a 1800R curve, the wider 21:9 and 31:9 as­pect ra­tios of­fer a bet­ter lay­out for mul­ti­task­ing in the one win­dow, and can also cre­ate a seam­less im­mer­sive gam­ing ex­pe­ri­ence. Dell’s 49-inch curved U4919DW isn’t a gam­ing mon­i­tor, so un­like Sam­sung’s sim­i­lar CHG90 it doesn’t of­fer GPU sync­ing, a 144Hz re­fresh rate or lower la­tency. And it’s also $700 more ex­pen­sive. So what makes it ap­peal­ing?
