GPU POWER

-

Some graphics cards need additional power, because although they draw power directly from the PCIe slot they’re placed into, the higher-end cards demand more juice to run correctly. Don’t worry if you forget, and you power on the system without it, because you’ll receive a message on boot telling you to power down the machine and plug in the additional cables. PCIe power cables are usually labeled, and come as a daisy-chained plug. In our build, however, our card doesn’t need any additional power. So, for us, it’s simply a matter of tying the cables up, and putting them somewhere out of the way in the bottom of the chassis. Once this is done, you simply reattach all the panels you removed in step one, which are safely stored in your chassis box, and you’re good to go.
