While the Type Cover and Surface Pen are optional extras, these are still the best 2-in-1 accessories on the market and despite the lack of a USB-C port the the new device’s USB Type-A, DisplayPort and headphone jack tick off all the essentials (and there’s always the option to buy a Surface Connect dock).
