NSW introduces contactless payments on Sydney trains
TAP ON AND OFF WITH YOUR CREDIT OR DEBIT CARD.
Transport for NSW had been trialling contactless payments on ferry and light rail services, but that has now been extended to Sydney Trains on the Opal network. Credit and debit cards capable of contactless payments – as well as smartphones, tablets and smart watches linked to their credit cards – can now be used on the train network instead of an Opal Card, with support for daily, weekly and Sunday fare caps included.
