Innovation continues with Andromeda and the HoloLens

A new form factor could carry Microsoft into the future.

The first iteration of the HoloLens, Microsoft’s AR glasses, are expensive, but they’re built well with hologram resolutions that impress. While the HoloLens remains a developer product, the second generation AR glasses – codenamed Sydney – are being developed and rumoured to launch some time in 2019. This could create a push, leading to the growth of mixed reality devices. The tech giant’s mythical Andromeda device – the pocketable dualscreen device – is also much talked about. If Microsoft can get both these devices right, hardware and software, it would usher in whole new era for the company.
