With the closure of Lexar, Micron’s consumer facing external memory brand, some may say the company is headed down the toilet – And Micron CEO, Sanjay Mehrotra, would have to agree. The next big frontier that Micron is eager to get onto, according to Mehrotra, is the AI toilet. The head of the semiconductor manufacturer elaborated at the 2018 Techonomy conference, saying, “smart toilets in the future will be analysing human waste in real time every day. If any sign of disease starts showing up, you’ll be able to catch it much faster because of urine analysis and stool analysis.”
