Eve, a company that crowd-developed an alternative to Microsoft’s Surface, has once again put design decisions in the hands of potential buyers to come up with the Eve Spectrum, the world’s first crowd-developed gaming monitor. The plan is for a 27-incher with HDR10 as well as HDR 400 certification, 144Hz refresh, a 1ms response time and 98 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage. This is also a FreeSync 2 display that is G-Sync Compatible. Part of what makes Spectrum different is the use of a brighter backlight. It also uses a different polarising technique to hit a higher contrast ratio – 1000:1 instead of 750:1.
