MIT wants poo selfies for AI bowel diagnosis training

AI has been trained to analyse a lot of information over the last couple of years, but a collaboration between microbial health research company Seed and MIT hopes to use poop pics to train AI to analyse and detect chronic bowel diseases and syndromes. The project is asking people to ‘give a shit’ for science, with the hope of collecting 100,000 real-life poomojis in what will be the world’s largest known data ‘dump’. If you want to contribute your own turds to science, take a pic on your phone and upload it to seed. com/poop along with the timing of your movement and an email. Seed has stated it separates pics from the metadata to prevent any potential poo shaming.
