The Oculus Quest has consumed a lot of the air in the VR space recently so it’s good to see that HTC is hitting back with some creative VR updates. In addition to offering a solid bump in combined resolution the headsets also come in three variations: the Cosmos Elite, the Cosmos XR and the Cosmos Play. The first is the more traditional headset that includes two external trackers and a different faceplate for superior motion tracking. The Cosmos XR comes with a wide angle camera faceplate that allows a superior 100-degree field of view for stand-alone AR experiences. Finally the Vive Cosmos Play offers a four-camera inside-out tracking faceplate that makes a great standalone VR headset that can be upgraded to PC VR capable later.
