Map drives

Having to manually reconnect to a frequently accessed shared drive each time you start Windows is a pain. Thankfully you can make network folders more accessible by assigning a drive letter to them: browse to the shared folder in question, right-click it and choose ‘Map Network Drive’. Select your chosen drive letter, leave ‘Reconnect at sign-in’ ticked, and click Finish. Your new drive will appear under File Explorer in the ‘Network locations’ section of This PC. Just click it for instant access going forward (assuming the folder is available) – if necessary, entering your username and password when prompted.
