The star of the show is the WD Blue SN550 NVMe SSD, which we reviewed back in APC March 2020, and awarded it a stellar 5/5, describing it as “the best mainstream NVMe SSD on the market right now.” With two 1TB WD Blue SN550s onboard this beast will fly. The SN550 makes use of Western Digital’s latest 96-layer TLC NAND. The use of TLC with its inherent endurance advantages over QLC means the SN550 has an excellent endurance rating of 600 terabytes written, a 1.7 million hour MTBF rating (190 years+!) backed with a five year warranty. Chunky HDD storage comes in the form of a whopping 24TB of storage thanks to four Western Digital WD Black 6TB hard drives.
