Shop Talk

- JAIMIE, LEADER COMPUTERS:

“The continuing COVID-19 situation is still putting strain on the supply chains we rely on as many of our vendors are not at full manufacturing capacity and Australia is getting small allocations. Also, the lack of international flights makes airfreight very cost prohibitive and unpredictable, so sea freight is the only reliable way to get stock.

Most people and companies have sorted their base gear for work from home, where the market has shifted now is fixing all the networking and security holes that work from home has opened up, so lots of VPN-capable routers, UTM appliances and other networking infrastructure. The government stimulus to companies has meant that spending has remained strong at this stage, with some major projects taking advantage of the continued stimulus going through till the end of December.”
