What’s happening in the world of fun
When Fortnite company Epic Games purchased Rocket League studio Psyonix last year it seemed almost inevitable that the game would drop off Steam and move exclusively to Epic Games’ own PC gaming storefront. Surprisingly, it didn’t, but now it will: Rocket League is going free-to-play and it can no longer be purchased on Steam.
Those who already own the game on Steam will still get updates, and will not lose any of the important features and online compatibility. But for those diving into the game from now on, it’ll only be available from the Epic Games Store.
The game will also be free-to-play on PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo consoles.
