High profile streamers continue to shuffle platforms

-

Following Microsoft’s closure of its beleaguered Mixer streaming service in July, high profile streamers are flowing back to their former homes. In August, both Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins and Michael ‘Shroud’ Grzsesiek commenced streaming on Twitch again, with the latter’s return amassing upwards of 500,000 viewers. Shroud reportedly received a $10 million payout upon Mixer’s closure, though it’s unclear if he’s struck a commercial deal with Twitch. Ninja hasn’t struck any deal, either.

While Shroud chose Twitch because it’s “the best,” in his words, Dr Disrespect’s recent ban from the platform is still a point of contention. For his part, Dr Disrespect has started streaming on YouTube, though in a statement provided to PC Gamer it was confirmed the popular streamer has no exclusivity deal with YouTubeas yet, and will likely experiment with other (nonTwitch) platforms in the future.
