Apple Watch gets Google Maps

The Cuppertino company has spent the better part of the decade standing behind Apple Maps, but it seems it’s finally conceded that Google Maps would be a useful tool for Apple Watch and CarPlay users. The on-wrist version is not as full-featured as the iPhone app, only allowing you to get directions of previously saved locations or new destinations pushed to the devices from the iPhone application, but it will hopefully get some kind of voice integration in the future. The CarPlay version will also get new Dashboard functionality, which allows a split-screen map, turn-based directions and audio playback functionalities all on the one display.
